A curious journalist, Parimal writes about just about almost anything–politics, sports, entertainment, crime, profiles, and education. In addition to writing full-time, Parimal is also an Honorary Board Member of the annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Before he was a journalist, Parimal worked in entertainment and criminal law, where he worked on criminal trials involving various felonies and negotiated deals for professional athletes.
Parimal started work in the entertainment business with R & B recording artist Jill Scott and her debut album in 2000 (Who Is Jill Scott?). He also was the lead marketing consultant on EMI’s hip-hop compilation album, Lock Down. With Lock Down, Parimal focused on royalties, promotions, product placement, and various other legal and management duties.
Parimal then moved on to work on the Sci-Fi movie Area 23 as Soundtrack/Artist Director, and was a legal consultant for the movie’s production company, Mindshadow Entertainment.
After working in entertainment and law, he moved into sports management, where he was a staff member for several national soccer tournaments and minor league basketball organizations before becoming a full-time journalist.
His Master’s degree is in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco. He earned his Bachelor’s in Political Science and History from UCLA in 1998, and an Associate’s degree from Cerritos College in 1995.
